The Interview

Kluster's Take

Josephine spoke with Laura Wheeler, Director Revenue Ops and Enablement at Spekit. She provides her take on how to mitigate the fear around change and anchor it to the mission.

Laura was in the sales world for a long time, but made the transition into operations. She believes that people are the biggest asset of a company. It’s in our nature to resist change, regardless if you know it’s useful or not. Leading through each element of the process helps to mitigate that fear.

She explains there is a link between high-performing champions and accepting these changes. Laura leans into people as cheerleaders for that change process. No process or rollout is perfect and you don’t always have to be a leader to be an influencer. To ensure long-term adoption, there needs to be both feedback and a re-enforcement programme. She explains that we have to give people the space to change.

Laura tells us that tech highlights top-performers and keeps people connected. She stresses the importance of quantifying early so that you can track processes. The human element is imperative for Laura. You need to give people their space and acknowledge that people are going through a change.
